The City of Franklin is looking for
a qualified Planning/Zoning Director.
Inspections, licensing management,
permit issuance, and collection of all related fees
according to city ordinance.
Interprets and enforces building
code, nuisance abatement, subdivision, and zoning
Administers federal flood plain
Trains and supervises department
staff in day-to-day administration and enforcement of
Interprets regulatory requirements
and advises City Boards regarding changes.
Coordinates activities with
Planning, Zoning, and Historic Commissions.
Attend meetings in and out of town
Must be organized, have good
communication skills and be able to multi-task.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and
general computer operations.
Requires high school diploma or
Associates Degree or equivalent in
building construction, architecture or closely related
field plus a minimum of five (5) years experience, or
equivalent combination of experience and education.
Requires Building Official
Certification through the International Code Council.
Experience in zoning enforcement or
building construction field preferred.
Must pass a background check and
Must have proof of legal
authorization of employment in the United States.
Cannot have any felony arrest or
Must be able to be bonded.
Must have a current valid Louisiana
