Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the City of Franklin in St. Mary Parish will be held at its regular meeting place in City Hall (E.A. Crowell School), located at 300 Iberia Street, Franklin, Louisiana on Wednesday, August 20, 2024 at 5:45 p.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $789,339.12, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $13,934.25. 24-25 Budget Recap

The City of Franklin has completed its Lead Service Line Inventory (LSLI) as required by the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Through visual inspections and construction permit records, it was determined that there are no lead service lines or galvanized lines requiring replacement in the City of Franklin.

The Lead Service Line Inventory is available for public review at Franklin City Hall, 300 Iberia Street, Franklin, La. 70538. To schedule an appointment to view the LSLI or to discuss any questions you may have, please call 337-828-6350.
